Barclays Center announces deals with ACC and A-10

An ACC-Atlantic 10 challenge probably won’t ever happen but new deals with each conference with the Barclays Center in Brooklyn will provide something pretty close:

“The ACC Tournament will be played at Barclays Center in 2017 and ’18. The A-10 will continue to hold its championship at Barclays Center in 2015 and 2016 and then return to the venue for three years in 2019, 2020 and 2021.  The ACC and the A-10 will play inter-conference doubleheaders at Barclays Center in 2015, 2016 and 2017. In addition, the A-10 has secured a spot for its teams to participate in the annual BROOKLYN HOOPS™ events at Barclays Center.”

This will be a great chance for the A-10 to rack more quality wins on their non-conference schedule. Also it provides access to some ACC teams that would most likely not want certain A-10 teams on their non-conference slate.

this is great! So happy to be in the A10. Also very happy that we’ll be back in the Barclays in 19, 20, and 21

Where will it be in 2017 & 2018?

Verizon Center DC is a possibility

ACC plays at Verizon Center in DC 2016, so I will be surprised if A10 is not in DC ’17-’18 making it virtually a VCU home game (they will travel better that Mason and GW combined). We had a great time in NYC, so will look forward to the next two years and return in ’19.

Mason 6-1 victory over 25th ranked VCU in baseball last night.

Mason’s victory knocks VCU out of Baseball America’s top 25. Go Mason!

Dropped out: Auburn (21), Tennessee (22), Georgia Tech (23), North Carolina (24), North Carolina State (25).

      (Baseball America Top 25, March 31, 2014)

Edit: Found it. You meant USA Today Coaches Poll. They were ranked 25, now knocked out.

        Thanks for the correction Ric.
I know this is a basketball site, but maybe Ryan won’t mind if we talk a little Mason baseball while basketball news is slow.
