Paul Hewitt and his staff picked up their first 2015 recruit with Ahmad Gilbert verbally committing to the program last week and they could be close to another. If you attended the open practice two weeks ago you might have noticed a potential recruit watching in the corner with assistant coaches. That was 2015 forward Charlie Thomas IV from River Hill (MD). Today Thomas stated his final list that includes George Mason:
DC Premier PF Charlie Thomas has a final list of Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, Rutgers, LaSalle, DePaul, William & mary, Towson, and George Mason

Thomas is a 6’7″ power forward who may appear undersized by college standards to play the position but that doesn’t seem to matter as he is usually the toughest and strongest guy on the court. Some say he projects as either a power or small forward at the college level and looks to be in the mold of a Jalen Jenkins. He led his team last winter by scoring in a variety of ways, three-pointers, lay-ups, foul shots, and mid-range jumpers. Looks to be another player the staff is going after that can play multiple positions and has a lot of versatility.
