Shorthanded Mason falls at Rhode Island

Capture uriGeorge Mason was without Marquise Moore for the second straight game and again struggled on defense. They allowed Rhode Island to shoot the lights out much like they did against Dayton and dug themselves into a hole in the second half. The strategy seemed to be to work the ball inside to Shevon Thompson and they had some success early on. The problem is that Thompson is inconsistent and turns over the ball far too often and Jalen Jenkins usually fouls out. It was poor shooting nights for Otis Livingston and Jaire Grayer so at that point who else are they going to go to with Moore out of the lineup? They were undermanned in this game but we still saw them hitting the boards hard and trying to attack to get back into it. At this point though it would difficult for them to defend anyone in the Atlantic 10 with four true freshmen out there and mix of either Jenkins, Thompson, or Gujanicic.

Moore made the trip to Rhode Island and was a game time decision so hopefully he is back in the lineup Saturday for the homecoming game against Davidson.
