AJ Wilson will redshirt the 2016-17 season

Late addition to the 2016 recruiting class AJ Wilson will redshirt this season, according to Corey Evans of Hoop Seen:

Given all the young players on this team it makes sense that someone would be redshirting this season. Wilson was considering an extra prep year of school before heading to college anyway. Now he gets to come in this fall and develop his game with the coaching staff before stepping up to the college ranks. In 2017, he and Goanar Mar will definitely help to revamp the front court and overall be tougher on defense.

I like this move, got to spread out the classes some, especially since we have no juniors this year. I believe we have one 2017 scholarship left, hopefully another point guard.

I really hope we are still in the running for PG Jamir Moultrie

Would have rather seen one of those tiny guards redshirt like Newman or Kier redshirt but this could be to get his grades up. Sometimes that is also the case.

Assuming everyone stays, who would be the PG next year? Not too long ago, we had a coach that thought the key to success in the A-10 was lots of long, lean forwards. That didn’t turn out to be the case with no one to distribute the ball.

Otis Livingston of course. Isn’t that obvious?

Our back court will be fine in the coming years but it’s the front court I am worried about. I feel like we won’t have great up front rebounding after Jenkins leaves.
