Matchups set for 2015 Charleston Classic

Matchups for the 2015 Charleston Classic were announced a few days ago and George Mason will face SEC opponent Ole Miss in their first game. The winner of that game will face either Oklahoma State or Towson. The tournament games will be on ESPN’s network of channels.

These early season tournaments are always a great test and will give us a clearer picture of what to expect this season.

Non-conference schedule released

George Mason released their non-conference schedule yesterday and it features six home games including Northen Iowa:

The previous staff did not leave much for this season’s non-conference slate so Dave Paulsen and his crew probably have to scramble to fill dates. However it is great to see old rival James Madison back on the schedule.

George Mason to host Shenandoah in exhibition game

We haven’t seen George Mason host an exhibition game since the 2012-2013 season. But this year they have one scheduled against Shenandoah University on November 8 at 7 pm. Shenandoah is a division III program and will serve as a tune-up game before the season kicks off against Cornell that following Friday. It will be a great chance for us to see the new team in real action and for the new players to accustomed to home games at the Patriot Center.

George Mason’s game schedule in Spain

The Patriots have arrived in Spain and will be playing some friendly matches with local clubs there. By the way, they aren’t the only college team there. Below is their tentative game schedule for the trip:

August 14th – in Gandia –  vs. Units pel Basquet Gandia

August 16th – in Castelldefels, Barcelona area vs. CB Castelldefels

August 17th – in Castelldefels, Barcelona area  vs. Tolougest Basket

August 19th – in Banyoles, Costa Brava  vs. CB Quart

Puerto Rico Tip-off Bracket Revealed


The Puerto Rico Tip-off tournament, which George Mason will be playing in this November has revealed their bracket today. The Patriots will square off against West Virginia in the first round and seem to be in the easier part of the bracket with UConn, Dayton, and Texas A&M on the other side. Yes, a championship game against UConn would be awesome.
